How to Size and Select Generators

The following data will be helpful in determining the proper size generator for your application. These nominal watts are approximate. If you do not know your tool’s wattage, multiply volts x amperage to find wattage (Volts x Amps = Watts). Most electric motors require a much higher starting current than running current. As a rule, you require three times the running current for starting electric motors.
