Metacaulk® 1000 is a water-based, flexible, highly intumescent sealant designed for use on metal, insulated, fiberglass and plastic pipes. It can also be used for top of the wall construction joints, as well as power and telephone cables. Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating 62, Tested in a UL 411 wall assembly/section to ASTM E90.  Metacaulk® 1000 will prevent the spread of flames, smoke, hot gases and water through joint openings and through-penetrations. An elastomeric, one-component, general purpose, fire-rated sealant and smoke seal for construction joints and through-penetrations. A water-based, non-sag caulking grade sealant that is easy to apply as well as to retrofit. Can be applied to horizontal and vertical surfaces. Cures to a paintable flexible seal. Metacaulk® FRS Fire Rated Putty Stick

Available in two forms: Putty Sticks and Putty Pads. Putty Sticks are used to seal around penetrating items through fire rated walls, floors and blank openings. For use with electrical cables, conduit and metal pipe. Hand moldable with no curing time required. Will not dry out and can be re-used as additional penetrating items are removed or installed. Putty Pads are used to maintain the hourly rating of fire rated walls containing electrical outlet boxes and to reduce sound transmission. Only one pad thickness (1/8'') is required for a 1 or 2 hour fire rating. Required by Building Codes in rated partitions where horizontal separation of opposite facing boxes is less than 24'' horizontally. Putty Sticks & Pads are sold in full box quantities only.
